General news
Vegan Bake Sale Groups across the globe will be involved with the 4th Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale.
Participating groups can do whatever they want with the proceeds.
Compassion for Animals, the sponsor of the event, will leverage the event and its semi-good media connections to get press coverage about the event and veganism in general. The Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale was named "Veg Event of the Year" by VegNews magazine.
Groups - including ad-hoc groups and non-vegan, non-animal groups - can hold the bake sale(s) anywhere and any time during 23 April to 1 May. Well, if you want to participate but cannot do during that specific period, that's ok, too. :) All goods sold must be vegan. Not required but we ask please to sign up at
http://www.veganbakesale.org/ veganbakesale/vbs-signup.html, so we can build our roster of where the bake sales are, and help promote them.
You may be able to get your bake sale funded - details at www.veganbakesale.org

Dear All Twice now I have tried to send out something about this and failed, because the images were too big I think, so here is the link for you to see for yourselves if you are interested. www.challengenavitus.org.uk
My worry is for the damage to the sea bed and rare underwater species as much as for migrating birds and visual discomfort. They are bad enough on land when they are grouped together in large numbers, even worse at sea. Sorry if you already received this but my pc says you didn't.
There are a number of issues to think about here including the invisible ones of what is happening under the sea to get these things erected and what affect on all life does the sound have. Nothing is for free. Something somewhere always has to pay for our needs and it is rarely us in the short term though long term of course who knows. I think I am right in saying this area of sea bed holds a number of endangered or rare species. I am sure someone will put me right if I am wrong. Frankie xx
(thank you frankie x !!)

please email - [email protected]
Would you like to host a 'Vegan pot luck' / 'bring and share' meal at your place? We need a few people to host this year
If so please let me know.
Vegan pot luck meals in homes can be for any amount of hours convenient to the host. eg. 3, 4 or 5pm till 7, 8 or 9pm, etc. or less or more time. The host invites us to his or her house for a social gathering and everyone attending takes food of their choice, hence 'pot luck'.
Generally, it's not known how many people will turn up but if there is a limit to how many people your place will take, 'so to speak' then please email and something can be arranged, although generally people may come and go so this hasn’t been a concern for anyone in the past, as no one notices because we are all having a lovely time!
These events are very cosy socials.. lovely to attend .. please consider being a host or to attend them.
Also if you are are not sure about what vegan food to take then please email - [email protected]
Can you suggest a veggie or vegan friendly place to meet? If you know of cafés, restaurants other venues where we could possibly meet for lunch during the day or evening meal so that more social meetings can be arranged.
Or if you have any other ideas please let me know.
